{"id":5575,"date":"2017-11-19T15:05:51","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T14:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/?p=5575"},"modified":"2021-02-13T08:29:18","modified_gmt":"2021-02-13T07:29:18","slug":"vienna-2017-workshop-systems-approaches-to-information-ethics-iii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/de\/2017\/vienna-2017-workshop-systems-approaches-to-information-ethics-iii\/","title":{"rendered":"Vienna 2017 | Workshop | Systems Approaches to Information Ethics III"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The third meeting of the project \u201cSystems Approaches to Information Ethics\u201d was held in Vienna 13-17 November 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The topics included:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>foundational questions of systems approaches<\/strong> (evolutionary theory, emergentist systemism and normativity; information in the context of Being and non-being, actuality and potentiality, and existence and non-existence);&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>problems of Information Ethics approaches<\/strong> (inter- and\/or transcultural Information Ethics; the possible reconciliation of the perspectives of Capurro, Ess and Floridi);&nbsp;and<\/li>\n<li><strong>applications questions<\/strong> (Internet and cognitive enhancement; convivialism as provider of design criteria; dystopias in novels and technology; current norms and rules in the area of Business Ethics like ISO 26000, GRI standards, concept of triple P, \u201cGemeinwohlmatrix\u201d; Ethically Aligned Design as proposed by the IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in AI and Autonomous Systems).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Cristina Voinea<\/strong>, PhD student in philosophy from the University of Bucharest, working on Internet governance, was guest of the Center and participated in the meeting along with our current PhD scholars from the School of Humanities at the Jiaotong University, Xi\u2019an, <strong>Liang Wang<\/strong> and <strong>Tianqi Wu<\/strong>, and with our most recently elected Fellow of the Bertalanffy Center, <strong>Annette Grathoff<\/strong>, besides the leaders of the project, <strong>Wolfgang Hofkirchner<\/strong> and <strong>Tom\u00e1\u0161 Sigmund<\/strong>.
