{"id":6288,"date":"2018-07-30T10:07:16","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T08:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/?p=6288"},"modified":"2018-09-09T00:12:59","modified_gmt":"2018-09-08T22:12:59","slug":"opportunities-and-limits-of-an-eco-systems-view-beyond-socio-ecological-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/de\/2018\/opportunities-and-limits-of-an-eco-systems-view-beyond-socio-ecological-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"Opportunities and Limits of an Eco-Systems View beyond Socio-Ecological Systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cInnovation and Optimization in Nature and Design\u201d was the topic of #ISSS2018, the 62<sup>nd<\/sup> Annual Meeting of the <a href=\"http:\/\/isss.org\/world\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Society for the Systems Science (ISSS)<\/a> which took place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.oregonstate.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">College of Engineering of the Oregon State University<\/a> in Corvallis, Oregon, United States from 22nd to 27th of July 2018.<\/p>\n<p>BCSSS Managing Director Stefan Blachfellner participated at the #ISSS2018 furthermore in his function as General Secretary of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifsr.org\/index.php\/what-is-the-ifsr\/what-is-the-ifsr-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Foundation for Systems Research (IFSR)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan held Chair of several highly interesting sessions at #ISSS2018 and gave a lecture on \u201cOpportunities and Limits of an Eco-Systems View beyond Socio-Ecological Systems\u201d. He examined the opportunities and limits of the application of eco-systems theory and epistemology beyond the domain of Socio-Ecological Systems and Human Ecology as a research field.
