BAC 2001<\/a> \u2013 Bertalanffy\u2019s Anniversary Conference \u2013 which was organised by Wolfgang Hofkirchner and Elohim Jim\u00e9nez-L\u00f3pez at the Vienna University of Technology and which prepared the ground for the Bertalanffy Center for the Study of Systems Science, the BCSSS invited distinguished systems theorists to reflect on the development of systems theory \u2013 its history and future.<\/p>\nToday, multiple crises challenge the sustainable development of civilised life on earth.
