The Bertalanffy Center for the Study of Systems Science proudly presents the upcoming European Meetings on Cybernetics and Systems Research 2014<\/a>, 22-25 April 2014 in Vienna. It is the second time we are responsible for the co-production of the most distinguished systems organizations and communities in the world<\/a>, in addition connecting member organizations of the International Federation for Systems Research<\/a>. The EMCSR create a hub for showcasing the advancement of systems approaches that contribute solutions to the complex challenges of today, the focus is on\u00a0\u201cCivilisation at the Crossroads: Response and Responsibility of the Systems Sciences.\u201d\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

The call for papers and participation<\/a><\/b> is still open until 28th of Fenruary<\/b>. If you want to join and contribute to the vibrant community we were able to connect already, do not miss this opportunity to submit your extended abstract<\/b><\/a> and get published in the EMCSR book of abstracts 2014.<\/p>\n

If you are already a member of the BCSSS – Bertalanffy Center for the Study of Systems Science, you may register with the EMCSR<\/a> <\/b>on the basis of the special reduced fee for members of the organiser.<\/p>\n

A marvellous programme is already shaping up. The keynotes <\/a>by Mario Bunge, John Collier, and Markus Schwaninger are confirmed. Three theme chairs<\/a> will lead into the themes of Sustainability & Development, Emergence & Design, and Complexity & Strategy<\/strong>. Three theme speeches<\/a> will set a special focus in these storylines. Distinguished lectures<\/a> are confirmed in diverse symposia. Diverse Demonstrations<\/a> like the Evolutionary Learning Labs<\/a>, a movie screening (Population Boom<\/a>) and discussion with the acclaimed Austrian director Werner Boote (Plastic Planet) and Systems Analysis for Informing Policy <\/a>by the renowned International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis<\/a> will showcase impactful systems thinking and practice.<\/p>\n
