That Summit is the follow-up conference of the one that was held with the support of the Center in Vienna in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/2017\/transhumanism-netizens-information-in-evolutionary-systems-three-sections-at-gothenburg-june-2017\/is4si-logo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4307\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8459\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" height=\"156\" width=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo.jpg 340w, https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo-100x46.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bcsss.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/is4si-logo-200x92.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One workshop is on the topic:&nbsp;<strong>Transhumanism \u2013 the proper guide to a posthuman condition or a&nbsp;dangerous idea?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A second workshop will discuss:&nbsp;<strong>Digital Netizens at the crossroads of sharing and privatising<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>And a panel is set up to deliberate on:&nbsp;<strong>Possibility and Actuality: Towards a Manifesto on Evolutionary Systems<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first workshop will discuss pros and cons of ideas that favour the&nbsp;<strong>enhancement of the intellectual and physical capabilities of human beings<\/strong> beyond their current organismic limits. Transhumanism as well as post-humanism form a strong&nbsp;movement, in particular, in the United States. But many assumptions shared by representatives of that&nbsp;movement underlie current technological developments. The workshop&nbsp;is organised by the research group and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiff.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forum Computer Professionals for Peace and Social Responsibility (FIfF), Germany<\/a>.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The second workshop asks whether or not the <strong>original dreams of a global netizenship<\/strong> have come true. A great variety of aspects is on the agenda, among them the actual question of <strong>bubbles and rational vs. irrational discourse on social media<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly, the panel deals with foundational stuff. It is devoted to contribute to clarifications of how <strong>matter and information<\/strong> can be conceptualised <strong>in the perspective of evolutionary systems<\/strong> (going back to Ludwig von Bertalanffy&#8217;s General System Theory).
