David Rousseau, leader of the BCSSS Research Group Systems Science and Philosophy participated in this year’s INCOSE International Workshops (International Council on Systems Engineering) (INCOSE IW18) from 20th – 23rd January 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

Following an overview session on Model-Based Systems Enginering (MBSE) together with David Long (INCOSE past president and Director of Vitech Corporation), Dr. Michael Watson (Director of the NASA Systems Engineering Research Consortium) and Donna Rhodes (Director of the MIT Systems Engineering Advancement Research Initiative (SEAri)) on the first day of the meeting, on Sunday 21st January 2018 David Rousseau gave a plenary lecture within a session on “Cultural Change”.

His talk was on Scientific Systems Principles, A Culture Change for Most Systems Engineers”.

 

 

Furthermore David Rousseau led two workshops during the INCOSE IW18:

Scientific systems principles for SE practice
Invited Co-Presenters complemented the workshop programme: Gary Smith (Airbus Defence and Space), Javier Calvo-Amodio (Human Systems Engineering / Manufacturing Systems Engineering), Jennifer Wilby (Management Scientis, University of Hull) and Julie Billingham (Scientific Advisor to the Centre for Systems Philosophy (CSP).
